Composer, performer and visual designer, DLVR's glitches accompany his electronic compositions, projecting us into the quasi-archaeological exploration of a cyberpunk and poetic dystopia โ where corrupted data of forgotten memories and emotions decompose and merge, on the boundary between the real, the simulacrum and the simulation.
DLVR (Distorted Layers of Vanishing Reality) is a solo artistic project by Quentin Parret, composer, performer and visual designer. Born from the collision between bass music, ambient, hip-hop and digital arts, DLVR develops a narrative where memory and technology intertwine. Its world โ urban, dreamlike and technological โ bridges the gap between the club and the exhibition space, from glitch to photography.
His works question how images, flows and algorithms shape our relationship to reality. Each piece acts as a half-virtual, half-organic space, traversed by fragments, anomalies and distant voices.
DLVR's performances alternate between contemplation and tension, blending grainy sound textures, generative visuals and narratives inspired by contemporary science fiction. The artist draws from J.G. Ballard, Boards of Canada, and video game universes like Metal Gear, Silent Hill and Half-Life. DLVR deploys an introspective approach spanning bass music, sound design, video creation and interactive installations.
Musician, filmmaker and artistic project director, Quentin develops DLVR alongside his work within Quelle Timeline!, dedicated to sonic and visual experimentation in the Lille area. He also collaborates with many artists โ Genki-Dama, Vivienne, MDSVP, Erostratt and Bancal โ handling music video direction, arrangements, mixing and sound design.
